What Makes HURRICANE® the Highest-Quality Roof You Can Buy
28-GAUGE SOLID STEEL CORE
28-gauge steel is thicker and denser than the 29 or 30-gauge panels used by many competing products. Under Class 4 hail impact testing — a 2-inch steel ball at 90 mph — it absorbs the hit without cracking, splitting, or perforating. Under CAT-5 wind conditions, it holds. The gauge is the foundation everything else rests on.
FOAM INSULATION Insert
Every TEK HURRICANE panel is installed with a foam insulation layer. This insert adds R-value to the roof system from day one — reducing the thermal load on your home's cooling and heating systems.
STONE-COATED EXTERIOR — DIMENSIONAL AND DURABLE
The stone granule coating applied to every HURRICANE® panel creates the same light, shadow, and texture depth of real roofing materials — shake, shingle, or tile depending on the profile. From street level, from a neighbor's driveway, from a drone: TEK looks like the real thing. It's also the surface layer that contributes to sound dampening and UV resistance over a 50+ year product life.
Choose Your HURRICANE® Style
HURRICANE® Metal Shake
The dimensional texture and warmth of hand-split cedar shake — rebuilt in 28-gauge stone-coated steel, with a foam insulation insert that cedar roofing has never been able to offer. CAT-5 wind. Class 4 hail impact. Class A fire. And none of the maintenance, rot risk, or fire vulnerability of real wood.
HURRICANE® Metal Shake Pro
Everything the Shake delivers — plus a fully concealed interlocking fastener system that creates a seamless, hardware-free surface from ridge to edge. The Pro's 2 lb. density foam insert delivers superior R-value alongside rain sound absorption. Higher corrosion resistance throughout. The most premium HURRICANE® finish available.
HURRICANE® Metal Shingle- COMING SOON!
Looks exactly like premium architectural asphalt shingles from the street — and from the HOA review board. Performs nothing like them. CAT-5 wind resistance and Class 4 hail impact in a profile that's been approved by HOAs across the country that restrict standard metal roofing. Foam insulation insert, standard.
HURRICANE® Metal Tile
Spanish tile aesthetics with full stone-coated metal performance — at 1.4 pounds per square foot, no structural reinforcement required. Real clay tile rates Class 1–2 for hail impact and fails at 60–80 mph wind. HURRICANE® Metal Tile achieves Class 4 hail impact and CAT-5 wind in the same profile. Available with the TEK Coastal Upgrade for full salt air encapsulation.
HURRICANE® Shake Before & After
See the difference TEK's Encapsulating Resin Coastal Upgrade makes. The resin fully encapsulates the metal panel, creating an impenetrable barrier against salt air, chloride corrosion, and coastal moisture.

The No-Compromise Standard Behind Every HURRICANE® Roof
TEK HURRICANE® roofing is not a product category. It is an installation standard. Every system that carries the HURRICANE® designation is built to the same specification — regardless of profile, regardless of market.
All four TEK HURRICANE® profiles are available with the TEK Coastal Upgrade — a weather-resistant, baked-on resin that fully encapsulates the metal panel before installation. This is not a surface spray or post-production coating. The resin seals the panel at the material level, eliminating the pathway between the steel core and the salt air, chloride particles, and coastal humidity that corrode standard metal roofing over time. Specified for homes within 1,000 feet of salt water. Recommended for any home within 5 miles of a coastline. CAT-5 and Class 4 ratings maintained.
TEK HURRICANE® carries a Class 4 hail impact rating — the highest residential classification under UL 2218 — and CAT-5 wind resistance at 140+ mph. Class 4 means the panel survives a 2-inch steel ball fired at 90 mph without cracking, splitting, or perforation. CAT-5 is achieved through TEK's interlocking system, which distributes wind uplift across the full panel grid instead of concentrating stress at individual fastener points — the failure mechanism that strips conventional roofing in hurricane conditions. Asphalt fails at 60–70 mph. Clay tile fails at 60–80 mph. HURRICANE® holds at 140+.
TEK HURRICANE® delivers energy performance asphalt shingles and bare metal panels cannot match. Every panel is installed with foam insulation insert — a closed-cell layer bonded at the factory, not installed separately — that adds genuine R-value to the roof system from day one. The stone-coated surface is highly reflective to radiant heat, and a built-in 3/8-inch air space promotes natural ventilation beneath the panel. Three energy mechanisms. One product. Most homeowners notice the difference in their first full cooling season.
TEK HURRICANE® panels are walkable — no cracking risk during installation or future maintenance — and include custom color-tabbed inserts for precise alignment and simple panel-level replacement if damage ever occurs. Direct-to-deck installation is available on all four profiles. Batten installation is available on Shake and Tile. Your TEK dealer will recommend the right method for your home's structure and climate.

Coastal Home? The Add the Upgrade That Extends the Highest Protection to Salt Air, Too.
Salt air corrosion is not a slow inconvenience — it's the failure mechanism that ends the life of standard metal roofing in beachfront and near-coast environments. TEK's Coastal Upgrade addresses it at the material level: a weather-resistant, baked-on resin applied to fully encapsulate the metal panel before installation. Not a surface spray. Not a post-production treatment. A sealed system that eliminates the pathway between the steel and the corrosive environment it's installed in.
- Full metal encapsulation — baked-on resin seals every panel surface, including cut edges and fastener zones
- Eliminates chloride-related pitting, rusting, and coating degradation — the primary failure modes of coastal metal roofing
- Tested for salt spray, coastal humidity, and UV exposure — rated for 60+ year performance in beachfront environments
- Maintains CAT-5 wind resistance and Class 4 hail impact ratings — the Coastal Upgrade does not reduce performance
- Available on all four HURRICANE® profiles — Shake, Shake Pro, Shingle, and Tile
PROVEN QUALITY. PROVEN PROTECTION.
Homeowners are consistently blown away by the look and durability of our metal roofing products. Some homeowners describe utter fascination from their neighbors, insurance rates going down, and their HOA being pleased with the upgrade. TEK products deliver benefits that go far beyond the roof itself.
Sue and Paul, North Texas Homeowners
"Our before and after is remarkable. All of our neighbors have asked us what kind of roof we put on. They were so surprised and impressed when we told them it's a Hurricane stone-coated metal roof."
Tracey, South Texas Homeowner
"I've had people call and comment on how much better my home looks, and it certainly is pleasing to the members of our homeowners association."
Anne, Haslet, TX
"We know that this is the last roof we'll ever have to put on this home. Our insurance rates have come down. We are completely satisfied, and I know that anybody else that puts this roof on will be too."

Engineered for the Highest Level of Protection — Engineered in Every Condition
TEK HURRICANE® roofing was engineered to the highest standard in the industry — then proven against the toughest climates that test every roofing product to its limit. Gulf Coast hurricanes, Great Plains hailstorms, Pacific and Atlantic coastal salt air, Western wildfire ember showers. The two-sided interlocking system, 28-gauge steel core, and USA-made foam insulation insert work together as a single engineered system. No single feature is responsible for the performance. All of them together are.
